B-1 Temporary Business Visitor

You may be eligible for a B-1 visa if you will be participating in business activities of a commercial or professional nature in the United States, including, but not limited to:

• Consulting with business associates
• Traveling for a scientific, educational, professional or business convention, or a conference on specific dates
• Settling an estate
• Negotiating a contract
• Participating in short-term training
• Transiting through the United States: certain persons may transit the United States with a B-1 visa
• Deadheading: certain air crewmen may enter the United States as deadhead crew with a B-1 visa

商務(Business)是指與商業或與商業有關的活動，如貿易談判、商務諮詢、國際會議等等。一般，B-1簽證申請人應符合下列條件：

1. 在居住國有居所；
2. 有限期的來美；
3. 來美的目的在於從事與商務有關的活動。

在申請B-1簽證時，申請人應能證明如下內容：

1. 有足夠的資金支付有關開支，所以不會在來美後非法工作；
2. 如果在美國的親戚朋友將對申請人進行資助，應證明資助者與申請人的親密關係；
3. 訪問的具體日程和活動項目；
4. 在訪問結束後，確定回國，訪問的日期應與訪問的目的相符合；
5. 不會在美居留較長日期；
6. 與居住國有較強的關係，如永久性工作、生意、家庭等；
7. 如果申請人是一家之主，應證明申請人在訪美期間如何贍養家庭。

一般，B-1簽證持有人可以在美從事如下活動：

1. 不涉及僱傭工作的經貿活動；
2. 商洽合同；
3. 業務諮詢；
4. 訴訟；
5. 參加科學、教育、商業等範圍的研討會、學術會等；
6. 學術、商業研究;
7. 作為董事會成員參加美國公司董事會的會議;
8. 作為美國公民的私人助手;
9. L－1、E－1或E－2簽證持有人的私人助手;
10. 前來美國投資的準備來美後申請E－2的人。
